Program & Services
Our overall goal is to change the pattern of abuse in the lives of women and children. Touching Heart commitment to providing a comprehensive, centralized base of support for women and children is evident by the programs and services provided for the women and children who seek our assistance.
Residential Program
Operated in a confidential location of Gwinnet County, our residential program is a 2 year transitional home with the ability to accommodate 21 domestic violence victims and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Residents receive food, clothing and medical assistance to address their physical needs. Additionally, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, domestic violence education, legal and social services advocacy are provided to address their emotional needs.
Touching Heart’s children’s program provides children of all ages a safe, nurturing atmosphere where they are offered individual counseling to raise self esteem and educational group services that focus on prevention and intervention of family violence. Additionally, mothers receive family counseling promoting positive and effective parenting skills. Children may attend local public schools while in residence.
Community Outreach
This program seeks to build community awareness and support by providing domestic violence education and training to the community
Prevention & Education Program
Program provides domestic violence education, presentations, trainings and other resources to schools in the community on topics such as Teen Dating Violence and Healthy Relationships.
